The Ordinary: The Ultimate Skincare Routine Guide You've Been Looking For!

Dernière mise à jour : 22 févr. 2025

I was about to order some skincare from The Ordinary, you know, that super popular brand everyone’s talking about! But then I thought, wait, what should I actually get for my skin type and the results I want? After scrolling through TikTok and Pinterest, it only got more confusing! So, I decided to dedicate a day to research as much as I could, hoping to help all the girlies out there finally figure out which products are perfect for their skincare routine! And the best part: They are all available on Amazon!!

Quick Tips:
  • Always patch-test new products, especially actives like Retinoids and Exfoliating acids.

  • Introduce new products gradually, particularly active ingredients, like those I mentioned to use "2-3 times a week." Your skin may need some time to adjust initially, and we want to avoid irritation. However, after a while, you can start using them more regularly once your skin has adapted to the product.

  • Don't forget sunscreen during the day, it's your skin's best friend, especially when using Glycolic acid or Retinol.

The Ultimate Acne Skincare Routine:

(All links are affiliates links)

Morning Skincare Routine for Acne:

1-Cleanser: Squalane Cleanser

Start your morning by gently cleansing your skin to remove any oil and impurities from the night before.

2-Treat (Serums): Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Apply this serum to reduce redness and control oil. It helps fight acne and prevents future breakouts. Use it in the morning, as it can help with inflammation.

3-Serum: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

This serum hydrates and plumps your skin by drawing moisture in. It's perfect for keeping your skin hydrated and soothing it, especially for acne-prone skin.

4-Moisturizer: Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

Hydrate your skin to keep it soft and balanced without making it greasy.

5-Sunscreen: Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 or 50

Always finish with SPF! Protection from the sun is essential, especially when using acne treatments like salicylic acid or retinol.

Night Skincare Routine for Acne:

1-Cleanser: Squalane Cleanser (Same)

Cleanse your skin again to remove makeup, sunscreen, and impurities from the day.

2-Exfoliate: Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (2-3 times a week)

This toner exfoliates the skin, helping to remove dead cells and improve texture. It’s great for reducing acne scars and brightening the complexion.

OR

Exfoliate: Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (2-3 times a week)

Apply this to acne-prone areas to deeply unclog your pores. This is great for preventing breakouts but use it 2-3 times a week to avoid irritation.

It's best to use either Glycolic Acid or Salicylic Acid, but not both on the same night. Both are exfoliants, and using them together can irritate your skin.

(Recommendation:

Use Salicylic Acid on some nights to target pores and acne.

Use Glycolic Acid on other nights to exfoliate and improve skin texture.

By alternating them, you’ll get the benefits without overloading your skin)

OR

 AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution (1-2 times a week)

Use this intense exfoliating mask 10 minutes max. to deep clean your pores. Be sure to skip it on the same night you use other acids like Salicylic acid or Glycolic acid!

3- Treat (Serums): Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

This serum works well at night too, to help reduce oil production and calm any inflammation.

4-Moisturizer: Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (Same)

Apply a good moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and smooth throughout the night.
